Sinn Féin is holding a major national event to mark the 90th anniversary of the inaugural meeting of the First Dáil Éireann (Ireland Parliament)on January 21st, 2009 in the Mansion House, Dublin.
We must endeavor to honour all those who gave their lives and sacrificed so much through all the years of our struggle. To insure that we not only achieve a united Ireland but that that Ireland is a socially just one. Where a governments roll is to serve all the people not just the few.We have had twenty years of the greatest wealth our country has ever known and yet our children still go to school in over crowded prefabs our health service is third world and on the brink of privatizing, crime lords and drug dealers run our streets and now young families are losing their jobs and their homes. Surely this government has failed Ireland, failed her people and failed her hereos.It is up to us to restore the ideals of the past and build a better future
